Tackley Church of England Primary School

Curriculum

Children at Tackley CE Primary School are given a love of learning through outstanding teaching. The systematic teaching of key skills is planned carefully in order for children to achieve their full potential.

Every child is considered as an individual and their learning needs are met through whole class, small group and individual teaching.

Our well-balanced curriculum includes:

  • English
  • mathematics
  • science
  • ICT (Information & Communication Technology)
  • PHSE (Personal, Social & Health Education) using the Family Links programme
  • art
  • design technology
  • French
  • drama
  • music
  • sport

These subjects are grouped into six areas: mathematical understanding; English, communication and languages; scientific and technological understanding; historical, geographic and social understanding; the arts; and physical health and wellbeing.

During their time at the school every child has the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, play in the school orchestra and sing in the school choir.

Reception age children follow the Early Years Curriculum and we are proud to be able to offer all children in these year group the opportunity to visit our Forest School weekly, whatever the weather!
