At Tackley School the arts form a core aspect of our curriculum. We believe that an appreciation of the arts can lead people to a deeper understanding of the world in which they live. We aspire to help children use the arts as a method of self-expression, to help them make sense of the issues in their lives. We aim to develop a sense of awe and wonder in our children and our teaching of the arts is central to this.
Arts subjects are valued at Tackley School and we commit significant amounts of teaching time to them. The arts comprise:
- art and design (including textiles and photography)
- dance
- music
- drama
Some aspects of poetry and creative writing also fall within the arts curriculum.
