At Tackley School we recognise the needs of the individual child and aim to provide the relevant support and resources to meet those needs. From time to time children may require extra support and individual help with an aspect of school life. As many as one in five children may have special educational needs at some time during their school careers. These needs may be physical, intellectual, emotional, social or behavioural and range from the mild to the complex and may be long or short term. In our school, we know our children well and are able to pick up any difficulties quickly but we also rely on you, as parents, to keep us informed of any difficulties you notice and of changes in home circumstances which may affect your child.
There is a special needs department co-ordinated by the Headteacher which aims to identify children with special needs so that they can receive the necessary assistance as early as possible.
