Summer Term
Welcome back!
Details of what we will be learning this term in each area of the curriculum can be found on the long term class plans below.
This term, our class book is ‘Charlotte’s Web’ by E. B. White. The children are welcome to bring in a personal copy.
As the weather starts to get warmer, it is important that your child brings a sunhat and wears suncream each day. Please ensure that children bring in a freshly filled, labelled water bottle to school every day. We have drinking water in the class so children can refill their bottles during the day. Please also make sure any uniform or clothing that your child brings to school is clearly labelled.
Homework
It is an expectation that children read regularly at home (both reading themselves and being read to). Please record reading in children’s reading diaries: if children record at least four reads a week at home they will receive a star for their star charts. Children should bring their diaries into school on Fridays for staff to check them.
A piece of homework will be set on Google Classroom each Friday and should be handed in online. House points will be awarded to those who complete it. Children should also use Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) four times a week to work on their times tables. Logins for TTRS are in the reading diaries. Year 4 will be completing their Multiplication Check later this term.
PE
PE will continue to be on Mondays and Wednesdays when children must come to school wearing their PE kit which includes a t-shirt in their house colour.
Forest School
This term we will be going to forest school on Thursday afternoons. Your child should bring suitable clothing (including wellies) to school to change into after lunch. Please ensure that your child brings long sleeved and long legged clothing, as there are nettles and brambles in the woods.
Please do get in touch if you have any questions or queries.
