Tackley School is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check.

Tackley School is a school in which everyone is nurtured. Health, Safety and Well-being is the school’s first priority. Safe and healthy individuals are happy individuals who are able to apply themselves to their work and achieve well.

The school follows all Government and ODST expectations with regard to safeguarding and child protection procedures, working closely with other agencies as necessary. Some of our procedures may seem a little ‘fussy’ but we operate on the principles of best practice because we wish to keep your children as safe as possible.

Safeguarding

Tackley Primary School is committed to keeping children safe at all times. The school has a comprehensive range of policies concerned with general health and safety and safeguarding. Although we would hope that it would not be necessary, parents may also find it useful to know how safeguarding concerns can be raised or reported.

Parents who are also volunteers are requested to attend Annual Generalist Safeguarding Training sessions along with staff and school governors. This training addresses the full range of safeguarding risks, how to identify various kinds of abuse and who to share information with.

Parents who are not volunteers in school may also have cause to report concerns from time to time:

Report child abuse – What to do if you think a child is at risk of abuse or neglect:

Exclusion/suspension at this school is extremely rare.  Should it be deemed necessary to exclude or suspend a pupil then the current Oxfordshire Local Authority guidance would be followed.
