Help us to raise money for the benefit of OUR children’s education and so we can offer OUR children the best start in life.
What does the PTA do?
Every parent and carer is automatically a member of the PTA by having a child at Tackley School. There is a small committee to organise activities but everyone is welcome to join in to support the school.
The PTA brings together parents, staff and children to organise events and raise funds for things that the school budget doesn’t normally cover. We strive to be at the centre of the school community – and the wider village – to enrich the lives of our children, and to support families and the community in which we live. The committee meets roughly once each half term with subgroups meeting at other times to plan and run events.

A big portion of our current balance, including the money raised from the Jubilee Fun Run and some of the Horse Show contribution, is also ring fenced for a sensory garden area which Carrie Southall is expertly planning and putting into action. Already this year the PTA has also funded the coaches for the Hill End school trip and contributed to the cost of swimming lesson coaches to keep the costs as low as possible for parents.
Plans for the coming year
We know that times are hard for many families with the current cost of living crisis. We are, however, also conscious that Covid has been an isolating and often dark time for many of us and there is a thirst to get back to some normality and have more social interactions. Our vision for the coming year is therefore to continue fundraising in a mindful way, offering events and activities to the school community and wider village to raise money where we can, but also have lots of fun along the way. We will continue to use funds to put money back into school, to help families, keeping costs down and giving our children a really great learning environment and some nice treats along the way.
We’d love parents and children to get involved when you can, whether that be volunteering to put up jumps at the horse show or coming along to one of our events. We don’t want people to feel pressured to give money. Giving time, joining in and bringing others along is just as valuable. If you shop online, we also urge you to sign up and use Easyfundraising. It really is EASY and costs you nothing – all you need to do is click through the Easyfundrasing app to the retailer you were about to shop with. The retailer then gives a percentage of the money you spend back to school. Any amount of spending, big or small, is worth the click through, as all the cash back that we get adds up. If you would also like to be involved in the PTA, either as a committee member or an occasional helper at events, please do get in touch via the PTA Chair, Catherine Chaytor: catherinechaytor@gmail.com.
